COME AND GIVE KARATE A TRY

At one of the friendliest Karate clubs in Northampton you will learn traditional Wado Ryu Karate under the instruction of Sensei Brian Noble 6th Dan.

Each class consists of a warm up and stretching followed by practicing various Karate techniques - Kihon, Kata and Kumite. Students will be able to progress and develop at their own rate.

Through our association we have access to national and international competitions for those students who want to participate.

We also offer access to coaching and referee programs, as well as squad training and regular gradings.

The club are members of BIKO and the English Karate Federation, which is recognised by the World Karate Federation.

This exciting martial art is open to anyone from the age of 5 years upwards, with no previous training experience required.

For the first lesson tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt are fine. There is no need to pre-book, simply turn up and give it a go!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are there any joining fees?

No, the club is free to join. There is a small charge for each class and you will need to buy an annual licence just after you start training to register you with the national goverining body for Karate in England.

Will I need to buy a Karate suit?

Yes, after two or three weeks you should know if you want to continue with your Karate training. There is no pressure to buy one before you start though.

How long will it take me to get a black belt?

That depends on each individual and there are a number of coloured belts to get through first. Students training at least twice a week might be able to achieve this in 3-4 years. There is no rush though as Karate doesn't end at black belt - it is really just the start of a journey.

Are the instructors qualified?

Yes, the chief instructor is graded at 7th Dan and is assisted by a 4th Dan black belt. Both have extensive training and teaching knowledge over many years with enhanced CRB checks. Additionally they respectively hold qualifications with the World and European Karate Federations to officiate at World and European championships.

How do I find a good Northampton Karate club?

As a beginner this is an important question. All Northampton Karate clubs will tell you they are good. We recommend you give it a try and decide if it suits you.
